Scott Goodwin is responsible for all field operations and the execution of drilling, completions and recompletion projects, as the Vice President of Operations at FourPoint Energy.
Goodwin received a B.S. degree in Petroleum Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines in 1996 and began his career with Marathon Oil Company that same year. During his eight years with Marathon, Goodwin held multiple engineering and field supervisory roles for various drilling, completion, and production projects in the U.S. Midcontinent, Offshore Gulf of Mexico, and Offshore West Africa. In 2004, he joined Questar E&P’s Rockies Division in Denver as the Operations Manager for their Legacy Division where he supervised an engineering and field team responsible for completions, recompletions, workovers, and daily production for properties in the San Juan, Paradox, Greater Green River, Washita, Powder River, and Williston Basins.
During his tenure at Questar, he planned the operations strategy for their entry into the Williston Basin and executed the industry’s first completions in the Baxter Shale. In 2009, Goodwin joined the Cordillera III Management Team. As Production Manager, he played a key role in helping the Company expand their Western Anadarko Basin drilling program from one vertical to twelve horizontal rigs and grew production from 18 to 147 Mmcfed. After the successful sale and transition of CEP III to Apache, he stayed with the Cordillera Management Team to help form FourPoint Energy, where he now serves as the Vice President of Operations. Goodwin and his operations team are responsible for executing drilling, completion, and recompletion projects; improving base production from acquired wells via workovers and artificial lift installations; and controlling expenses across the asset base.
