Scott Goodwin is responsible for all field operations and the execution of drilling, completions and recompletion projects, as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at FourPoint Energy.
Goodwin received a BS degree in Petroleum Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines in 1996 and began his career with Marathon Oil Company that same year. During his eight years with Marathon, Goodwin held multiple engineering and field supervisory roles for various drilling, completion, and production projects in the U.S. Midcontinent, Offshore Gulf of Mexico and Offshore West Africa. In 2004, he joined Questar E&P in Denver as Operations Manager in the San Juan, Paradox, Green River, Washita, Powder River and Williston Basins. During his tenure at Questar, he planned their entry into the Williston Basin and executed the industry’s first completions in the Baxter Shale.
In 2009, Scott joined the Cordillera III Management Team as Production Manager to help the company expand their Midcontinent development program from one to twelve rigs and grow production to eight times the original acquisition level.
After the successful sale and transition of CEP III to Apache, he stayed with the same Management Team to help form FourPoint Energy, where he served as the Vice President of Operations until 2021, when he assumed his current role as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Scott and his team are responsible for integrating acquired assets; executing drilling, completion, and recompletion projects; improving base production; and controlling expenses across the asset base.
